Robotic Assisted General Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery.

During robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci surgical system, Dr. Ennis makes several small incisions which means minimal scarring. While sitting at a console next to you, dime sized surgical instruments are placed inside the patient through tiny incisions. A very small high definition 3D camera gives Dr. Ennis a magnified 360 degree view of the operative field.

Dr. Tara Ennis, M.D.

When you need surgery, you want to get through it so you can get back to your everyday life. We want that for you too!

The da Vinci Robotic surgical system gives Dr. Ennis an advanced set of instruments to use in performing robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery. The tiny wristed instruments move like a human hand, but with greater range of motion.

The robotic system translates your surgeons hand movements at the console in real time. The da Vinci vision system delivers highly magnified 3D high definition views of the surgical area.

Get back to what matters most.

If Dr. Tara Ennis decides robotic-assisted surgery is right for you, most robotic procedures are outpatient which means getting you home the same day.

Studies of da Vinci surgery have shown the following benefits in comparison to open surgery - Shorter Hospital Stays, Less Blood Loss, A Faster Recovery, Less Need For Narcotic Pain Medicine, and Minimal Scarring.

WHY IS ROBOTICS BETTER?

Improved Vision!  -  Surgery with an HD, 3D, magnified, totally immersed view.

Wristed Instruments!   This is a huge return of dexterity that was lost in laparoscopy.

Improved Ergonomics!  Now surgeons can sit in the same supported, comfortable position for every case.

FireFly Visualization!   -  A special dye is injected into the patient. A built in laser light is turned on. Presto! In the laser light the dye glows and now the surgeon can see incredible detail about bowel vascularity or the bile ducts right through other tissues.

Vessel Sealer and Stapler!   -  Rock stable control of these technologies allows greater precision and control in the critical use of these devices.
